The Olinda Creek Walking Track is a 5.6km walk that takes around 2 hours to complete (one way). The walk is of an easy grade, however there is a moderate hill to climb at the start of the walk. Other than this portion, the track is generally flat and would considered moderate in difficulty due to its overall length.

There are also two smaller walks that branch off the Olinda Creek Walking Track; Messmate Walking Track (1.4kms) and Grey Gum Walking Track (2.3km loop).

Whether you are departing or arriving at the Silvan Reseroir Park, bird watchers will enjoy spending time here as you can spot many different species of waterbirds including the spoonbills and long-legged herons. Robins and cockatoos are also common within the park. The Silvan Reservoir Park also has numerous picnic sites where visitors can BBQ with family and friends. It is important for visitors to note that dogs must always be kept on a leash and are not permitted on the walking trails, they must remain in the precincts of the Silvan Reservoir.

So put your walking shoes on, bring some water, snacks and take a couple of hours to take a long walk through the beautiful Dandenong Ranges!
