CherryHill Blossom Festival

The CherryHill Blossom Festival is one of Victoria’s most picturesque spring events, transforming the orchards of CherryHill Orchards in Wandin East into a sea of delicate pink and white blossoms.

Held over several weekends during the short blossom season, the festival offers visitors a rare opportunity to wander through flowering cherry trees while enjoying the fresh country air of the Yarra Valley.

Visitors can stroll along designated walking paths that wind through the blossoming orchards, providing countless opportunities for stunning photographs beneath the flowering canopy. The picturesque setting is particularly popular for family portraits, engagement photos and social media content, with every turn offering a postcard-worthy backdrop. Comfortable seating areas throughout the orchard also invite guests to slow down and soak up the peaceful surroundings.

The festival offers much more than beautiful scenery. A selection of food trucks serves a variety of sweet and savoury treats, while CherryHill’s farm shop stocks cherry-inspired products, preserves, gifts and locally made items. Live music often enhances the relaxed atmosphere, creating the perfect setting for a leisurely day surrounded by nature.

Families are well catered for, with lawn games, open spaces and seasonal activities providing entertainment for children. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic rug, relax beneath the blossoms and enjoy one of the most scenic spring settings in Victoria.

While cherry picking takes place later in the growing season, the Blossom Festival celebrates the beginning of the orchard’s annual cycle and showcases the natural beauty that precedes the summer harvest.

Located less than an hour’s drive from Melbourne, Wandin East makes an ideal day trip. Many visitors combine the festival with other Yarra Valley attractions, including wineries, gardens, cafes and artisan producers, making it easy to enjoy a full day exploring the region.

Dogs are welcome at the Blossom Festival. There is a small admission fee for your furry friends, with 100% of the profits from their ticket being passed on to Animal Aid in Coldstream.

The Yarra Valley Floral Day Pass grants all-day entry to both the iconic Tesselaar Tulip Festival and CherryHill Orchards’ annual Blossom Festival, combining two of the region’s most breathtaking seasonal experiences into one unforgettable self-drive adventure.

Available midweek, the Floral Day Pass invites guests to explore the Yarra Valley at their own pace, moving between a sea of vivid tulips in full bloom and the delicate white blossoms of CherryHill’s cherry orchards. We are pleased to have teamed up with our wonderful neighbours at Rochford Wines to bring you the Rochford Lunch & Cherry Blossom experience again this Spring!

Delight in an afternoon of great food and wine with a two-course lunch paired with a glass of estate wine at Rochford Wines, followed by an afternoon of delight at CherryHill’s iconic Blossom Festival at our Wandin Orchard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which orchard is this event at?
This event is located at our Wandin site (474 Queens Rd, Wandin East). Entry is on the right-hand side of the road, just over the small hill. You can find out more information on planning your visit at our website.

Cherry beverages, cherry gifts and merchandise and of course, our famous cherry ice-creams are also available at this site.

Do I have to buy a ticket for my infant?
Infants aged 0–3 years require a ticket, but it is free of charge.

What should I wear?
This event is held outside and is subject to weather conditions. Please bring your own water bottle, sunscreen, umbrella, waterproof coat, cash/credit cards, phone, tickets (unless they are on your smartphone), camera and sunglasses. We recommend wearing comfortable, closed-toe shoes, as you will be walking on uneven ground in the orchard.

Is there food or do I need to bring my own?
Picnic Packs can be pre-purchased for this event, and we will have a range of food vendors on site for you to choose from (two on weekdays, four on weekends and public holidays). Our farm shop and bright pink caravans will also provide our guests a range of delectable food and drink to enjoy. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy sitting amongst the blossoms while you eat. Please ensure you dispose of all rubbish thoughtfully and leave our orchard as beautiful as when you found it.

Please note that you cannot bring any cooking equipment such as BBQs or stoves.

Do I need to print my ticket?
You do not need to print your ticket if you have the PDF ticket attached to your smartphone; simply show the QR code on your ticket, and our staff will scan it for you.

Can we BYO alcohol?
Unfortunately, as this is a licensed event, it prohibits the public from bringing their own alcohol.

Do I have to come at my allocated time slot, and how long can I stay?
Yes, to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable time at our orchard, you must arrive at the time stated on your ticket.

Ticket times are in place to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. You will be refused admission if you arrive outside of your allocated entry time.

Once you have entered our orchard, you are welcome to stay for the remainder of the day until we close at 5:00pm.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes! We love when people bring their dogs and also have pup-friendly treats available on the day.

Please note that dogs can only attend our Blossom Festival, not our cherry-picking events, for their own safety.

However, we do allow assistance animals on our site for all events as they are highly trained and governed under the Disability Discrimination Act.

Getting There

Car
We are approximately 1 hour away from Melbourne’s CBD. When you reach our orchard, look for the big red CherryHill signs on either side of our driveway. Follow the signs to our customer car park as you enter our driveway.

Train
To get here by train, you will need to catch the Lilydale line to Lilydale. Once at Lilydale, you will need to arrange a taxi to get you to our orchard, which is about 20 minutes away.

13CABS are the taxis used in the area, and we strongly recommend you arrange with them when you would like a return journey back to the train station. Alternatively, there are a few UBER drivers around the area, which can make the trip cheaper.

Bus
Unfortunately, the buses do not reach the orchard gates. The closest bus stop to our orchard is Lilydale, located approximately 15 km away.

We do not recommend walking from the bus stop. It is best to call a taxi or book an UBER.
