The Tesselaar KaBloom Festival of Flowers is one of Melbourne’s most spectacular autumn events, transforming the rolling hills of the Dandenong Ranges into a sea of colour and creativity. Held annually at Tesselaar Flower Farm in Silvan, this month-long celebration combines millions of flowers with live entertainment, family activities, food experiences, and stunning outdoor scenery.
Tesselaar KaBloom Festival of Flowers 2027 Dates, Times, Prices, Address
Unlike a traditional garden exhibition, KaBloom offers a fully immersive experience where visitors can walk among expansive floral displays and enjoy ever-changing views across the property.
The flowers may be the headline attraction, but the festival offers much more than floral displays alone. Families can enjoy an extensive entertainment program featuring performances from Circus Oz, circus workshops, storytelling sessions, children’s activities, craft experiences, games, and seasonal school holiday events. Tractor rides and interactive attractions create a relaxed atmosphere that encourages visitors to spend the entire day exploring the grounds.
Food stalls and market-style experiences add another layer to the festival, allowing guests to enjoy international flavours and local treats while taking in the scenery. Open lawns and dedicated viewing areas provide plenty of opportunities to pause, relax, and appreciate the colourful surroundings.
Dogs on leads are also welcome, making KaBloom a popular outing for families wanting to include their four-legged companions.
Located approximately one hour from Melbourne’s CBD, the festival has become a seasonal tradition for locals and visitors alike.
Whether you are visiting for the flowers, the entertainment, or simply a relaxing day in the fresh mountain air, the Tesselaar KaBloom Festival delivers an unforgettable autumn experience that celebrates colour, creativity, and the joy of the outdoors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we bring our dog?
Dogs on leads are welcome. We provide water for dogs around the grounds. We ask that you please pick up after your pooch.
Are we allowed in the flower fields?
Our flower fields are roped off to protect the flowers, but don’t worry, there is plenty of areas to get the perfect photos – we run the flowers right up to the ropes and have special paths, so you can take the perfect pic that looks just as if you are in amongst the blooms.
We rope the flowers at KaBloom so everyone can enjoy them, but they are too fragile to open.
Are there cash-out facilities on-site?
Yes, you can get money out at the gate or any of our souvenir stalls. Vendors and stalls also accept cards.
How long does it take to look around?
Well, how long is a piece of string?! That really depends on how many photographs you want to take, if you are having lunch, if you would like to sit and enjoy some of our entertainment, etc.
What we can tell you is the facts: in addition to over 12 acres of flower fields, we have sensational live entertainment daily. Some people can be in and out in a couple of hours and see it all; others like to make a day of it. It really depends on you.
Are there tables and chairs?
Yes, we have a number of tables and chairs available for you to use. You are welcome to bring your own picnic rug, chairs, or, for that matter, a picnic, and relax for the day.
Are there any food and beverages available?
Yes, we have a range of food vendors throughout the festival.
On weekends and public holidays, additional food trucks and vendors are on-site. Food prices range from $4 to $24 per item or meal.
Can we bring our own picnic?
You are very welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy it in our gardens. We have lots of lovely lawns where you can sit down and enjoy the ambience. We also have picnic tables located throughout.
We offer pass-outs so you can come and go to your car without carrying everything.
Barbecues are not permitted on site, and no BYO alcohol is permitted.
Is there parking?
We have complimentary onsite parking for cars and buses. We have a section of limited-mobility parking near our entrance gate. Please note that parking and tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The areas surrounding the farm are NO STANDING, and we actively discourage parking on the roads. If the car park is full, we advise you to drive, grab a coffee, explore the local area, and come back in an hour or so. We will reopen the car park as soon as space becomes available.
Can we BYO?
No, but we have a licensed on-site bar that serves a selection of alcoholic drinks, including local wines, beers, and ciders.
Can I take wedding photos there?
Yes, you are most welcome to have your photos taken here on event days. We do not have areas set aside for private photos, so we advise you to come at 10am on a weekday for a more private wedding photo shoot at the KaBloom Festival.
Pre-purchase your tickets online to ensure availability and to avoid an added wait at the entrance gate (if needed, ticket dates can be changed online).
You will need a ticket for everyone coming, including the makeup artist and photographer. We do not have an additional photo levy.
Brides, please be advised: we are a working farm, so bring along some practical shoes as well as your gorgeous sparkly ones. We also think a picnic blanket or towel is a good idea to stop your dress from getting dirty.
Can I pick the flowers?
No, we will have bunches of flowers available for purchase, but the flowers cannot be removed from the fields – we want them there for everyone to enjoy!
Can I smoke?
As we are an outdoor event, it is ok to smoke, but please consider others and dispose of your butts thoughtfully. As per government regulations, you are not permitted to smoke within 10m of eating areas.
What about the weather? Do you still open if it is raining?
Whilst we always hope for sunshine, Tesselaar KaBloom is an outdoor event that runs rain, hail, or shine (and sometimes we have all three in one day).
We have free umbrellas for hire on site, but you may wish to bring your own.
In the case of extreme weather events we may be required to close for safety reasons, this will occur if there is an extreme or red alert fire rating or dangerous winds. We will update any information on our Facebook page.
All date-specific pre-purchased tickets can be changed prior to the date on the ticket, subject to availability; fees apply.
What should I wear?
Tesselaar KaBloom is located on a working farm. We recommend you pack a warm coat in case of bad weather; we would hate for you to be cold. On sunny days, a hat and sunglasses are handy. Layers are ideal as the weather can change.
Please remember that flowers grow in soil and in Silvan ours is lovely red volcanic soil, when it rains soil can become muddy, so if it has been raining, gumboots, or sensible footwear is advisable.
What should I bring?
A camera, first and foremost, the flowers are quite photogenic, so you will need to take a few snaps! Anything that will make your day more comfortable, such as picnic rugs, a hat in sunny weather, a coat in cold weather, spare batteries for your camera/phone, etc.
What can’t I bring?
Alcohol. Drones – drones can pose a safety hazard whilst flying over people’s heads; they are not permitted on the farm in accordance with Government regulations. Bicycles, roller blades, roller skates, skateboards, foot-propelled scooters, or segways.
