There are over a million flowers in bloom spread out over a five-acre garden, the major highlight of this family-friendly event.

In addition to the flowers, the event also features live entertainment, most of which are free. Some activities require a small cost, such as face painting which is $10, and $5 for tractor rides. Tables and chairs will be available, but you are also welcome to bring your own picnic mat, rugs, and chairs.
Visitors may come for lunch as there are several food stalls selling delicious dishes such as Dutch pancakes, pulled pork rolls, falafel burgers, Turkish Gozleme, sandwiches, tea, and coffee. Beer, ciders, and wines will be available on the weekends. The cost of food ranges from $5 to $23.
Smoking will be permitted since it’s an outdoor event. However, smokers should dispose of butts mindfully and smoking will not be permitted in eating areas. Since the venue is on a working farm, it’s ideal to come in a warm coat to be prepared in case the weather turns. If it rains, the soil turns muddy, so it’s appropriate to come in gumboots or other sensible shoes. A small cottage at the farm will have nappy bins and a changing table, as well as a rocking chair for nursing babies in privacy.
The festival is also a popular wedding photo location, but since there are no areas closed off for private photos, those who would like to have their photo taken are recommended to arrive at 10am on weekdays to secure an area for a photo shoot. A ticket for everyone including photographers and makeup artists will be required.
Complimentary parking on-site is available for buses and cars but is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited mobility parking is located near the entrance gate. The Tesselaar KaBloom Festival of Flowers runs from 10am to 5pm each day. Ticket prices are $26.5 for adults, $23.50 for concession, while children aged 16 and below are free of charge. Groups of 10 people or more pay just $23.50 per person.
Dogs on leads are also welcome to the event, with water provided for them but owners must pick up after dogs. An ATM is available on site. Individuals with mobility issues will need assistance since the location is held on a farm with unsealed paths. A limited number of wheelchairs is available for hire, free of charge.
The festival runs rain or shine!
