Knox Fest is a free community event that invites the people of Knox to come together and celebrate community life.
It features a range of activities for the whole family, including interactive workshops, food trucks, thrilling rides, arts play, community stalls, amazing stage programs, and ‘come and try’ activities.

Knox Fest returns with more energy, more flavour, and activities for the whole family. The festival will feature a mix of live music, local art, community stalls, workshops, and culinary delights.Held at Wally Tew Reserve in Ferntree Gully, Knox Festival is an age- and family-friendly, alcohol, drug, smoke, and vape-free event.
Featuring a range of activities for the whole family, including live music, amusement rides, cooking demonstrations, food trucks, arts and outdoor play, youth hub, kids activities, active hub, community and market stalls, ‘come and try’ activities, and heaps more!
There will be a fireworks display at approximately 9:45pm.
Please leave your pets at home; guide dogs and companion dogs are welcome.
Please also ensure that any local resident pets are confined to your premises during the fireworks for their welfare and comfort.
Getting There
There is no public parking at the event. Please walk, ride, or take our free shuttle bus to the festival.
- Best pedestrian entry points are via Burwood Highway and Brenock Park Drive
- Bike parking is located near the Lyndale Court entry. Please BYO bike lock.
- Accessible parking is located via the Burwood Highway entrance.
- Do not park on nature strips, in front of driveways, or where there is a continuous white line. Adhere to all road rules and signage. No parking on Blackwood Park Drive.
Two free shuttle buses will be running on a regular loop to and from the event, starting at 11am.
- Bus one will run between Ferntree Gully Station and Brenock Park Drive.
- Bus two will run between Upper Ferntree Gully Station, Kings Park, and Brenock Park Drive.
- Buses will not operate between 2:20pm-2:40pm and 6:00pm-6:20pm.
Public Transport (Train + Walk)
1. From Melbourne CBD
- Head to Flinders Street Station or Parliament Station (central train stations in the CBD).
- Catch a Belgrave Line train towards Belgrave.
Trains run regularly and usually take about 50–60 minutes to reach Ferntree Gully from the city.
2. Arrive at Ferntree Gully / Nearby
- Get off at Ferntree Gully Station or Boronia Station (both on the Belgrave line).
- From there, it’s a walk or local bus to the reserve:
Ferntree Gully to Wally Tew Reserve: about a 15–25 min walk south/southeast to Lyndale Court.
Boronia Station to Wally Tew Reserve: about 18 min walk.
Alternatively:
From the train station, you can catch a connecting bus (691, 693, 732, or 755) to stops near St Joseph’s College/Brenock Park Dr, which is a ~5 min walk to the reserve.
Myki Ticket:
You’ll need a Myki card topped up for metro travel (Zone 1+2).
Driving from Melbourne CBD
- Head east on the M3 / Burwood Hwy (via Monash Freeway).
- Continue on Burwood Hwy through suburbs like Blackburn and Bayswater.
- Turn right into Glenfern Rd (or follow signs to Ferntree Gully).
- Turn into Lyndale Court to reach Wally Tew Reserve, Ferntree Gully.
Approx 30–40 min drive depending on traffic (about ~33–36 km).
