Giro Della Donna Cycling Race 2017 Dates – Warburton & Mt Donna Buang
The course is located through the beautiful Dandenong Ranges on closed roads, making this a safe ride for cyclists. There will be gruelling climbs (20km Reefton Spur) and gravel roads (13km Acheron Way) which makes this ride very challenging.
You will be riding through beautiful forested areas with tall trees and ferns on each side. There will be many shady sections to keep off the hot sun and beautiful views as you make the climb.
The ride starts in Warburton and cyclists will immediately start climbing up a steep ascent. You will travel past Lake Mountain and through the picturesque town of Marysville. There are steep and sharp corners, so riders need to take care in these areas.
Heading through Acheron Way will give riders the best views yet as they make the final climb up to the summit of Mt. Donna Buang. A challenging ride, this event is suitable for experienced riders. Spectators are welcome to greet riders at Mr. Donna Buang, but note that many roads will be closed along the cycling route.
With refreshments and entertainment at the summit after the race, this is a great event everyone can enjoy! Registrations open in mid-2017.
