The Herb and Chilli Festival

The Herb and Chilli Festival

Thanks to its previous success, the Herb and Chilli Festival is back and bigger than ever. Taking place in March each year and held in Wandin, the festival will include exhibits, stalls and of course, a chilli cook-off.

Aimed at both professional chefs and amateur cooks, the festival aims to share the most interesting and unique herbs and chillies available, explaining how to grow, store and cook with each variety.

The festival exhibits over sixty stalls, with delicious cuisine from all over the world from South America, Greece, Senegal and Nepal. Freshly cut meats, handmade ice cream, locally sourced fruit and berries are just a few of the scrumptious delicacies you can try during your visit. Wash it all down with a local beer or wine, juice, slushy, tea, coffee or, in the spirit of the festival, a chilli-beer!

You’ll also have a chance to purchase chillies and plants to take home, with over twenty varieties of chilli available. There are also a vast selection of freshly grown herbs to add to your home cooked dishes.

There will be entertainment galore with a cooking stage, speakers stage, entertainment stage and buskers stage as well as a fully stocked food court and heaps of competitions.

Even kids will have a great time at the festival, with plenty of entertainment such as face painting, pony rides, jumping castle and petting zoo as well as goodie bags full of cool treats to take home.

Whether you’re an amateur or artisan, you’ll have a fabulous day learning about chillies, plants and enjoying gourmet food in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Free parking is available on site. Dogs are welcome.
