The family-owned café serves delicious meals and sells a huge range of souvenirs. Start off the day on the right note with the Sherbooke Feast, a delicious breakfast that will leave you full right through lunch! Other exciting items on the menu include the signature Fishermans Basket, foccacias and the delicious sticky date pudding. You can also enjoy a Devonshire Tea here with delicious scones, jam and cream.

Enjoy you meal in the restaurant seating areas or head to the outdoor deck in the warmer months to enjoy the sunshine. Grants On Sherbrooke is licensed and serves a variety of regional wine and beer as well as hot coffee and cold drinks.

Access to the popular bird feeding area is via the kiosk, as the area is fenced off. Visitors purchase a token which allows a visitor to get a weighed amount of seed to feed the wild birds. Note that visitors are not allowed to bring their own seeds to the grounds as these are native birds that are accustomed to a particular diet.

After you enjoy your lunch and feed the birds, take a leisurely stroll along the the Margaret Lester Forest Walk. This walking trail has an easy grade and is well suited for visitors with limited mobility. The walk is only a short 300 metre loop and only takes around 30 minutes to complete.

    • Hi Claire,

      Last time I visited, it cost $4 per token to feed the birds. As for the best time to visit, they are wild birds, so it is really impossible to predict when they will be there. However, I would visit earlier in the day to ensure they don’t already have full bellies by the time you arrive!
